Tony Parker returns to Spurs starting lineup Friday

Tony Parker went through a full practice on Thursday, and was listed as probable for San Antonio’s game against the Jazz on Friday.

As we’ve gotten that much closer to tip-off, it has been confirmed that Parker will return to the lineup and will start, according to multiple reports. Parker missed the last month or so with a severe ankle sprain, but the Spurs are the Spurs, so of course they went 6-2 in his absence.

All that matters in San Antonio is that he’s right for the postseason, so you can bet that’s the case otherwise Gregg Popovich would have no reason to bring him back so soon.

Parker has been mentioned in the MVP conversation with the way he’s played this season, leading San Antonio to one of the league’s top records with averages of 21 points and 7.6 assists per game, while playing 33 minutes per contest.
